The Thanksgiving Menu
We are looking forward to welcoming our guests for dinner tomorrow! I am so very thankful for Mike and Brenda, who worked extremely hard to get vegetables peeled, pecans roasted, the ingredients for the dressing chopped and ready.
Here's a Thanksgiving medley of songs, a couple of which I haven't heard since the days of Miss Hall at Hebron Girls School in Coonoor.

Sounds delicious. So wish we could join you. And have to ask, what is Autumn Fluff?
ReplyDeleteOh, just some little confection containing oranges, lemon, cream cheese and cream, whipped into a frenzy and served in delicate little goblets ... in other words, something that buys us a few extra minutes between the time we clear the soup plates and we serve the platters and bowls of food that comprise our family-style Thanksgiving dinner!
DeleteHey, could you send some of that over here please? Just do an airdrop...!
ReplyDeleteBecky, wouldn't that be great?! I just have to say how much I am enjoying your parents on Tuesday mornings at the Manor. What beautiful, rich singing voices they have! And that is nothing compared to the warmth with which they always greet me - they sit right next to the tiny keyboard so I am always the recipient of their smiles and their kindness - and their beautiful harmonization! xoxo
DeleteYou make it look and sound beautiful ... but the best part is the taste!
ReplyDeleteBronwyn, it is true that the taste is pretty spectacular, but that is due mainly to the incredible team I had working - Brenda Spilsbury, Mike Thibault, BA Ironside, Deborah Ironside, Allan Ironside Senior (best turnip chef in the WORLD!!), and Gabby Penner , who did dishes like NO ONE I have ever seen before! and still managed somehow to serve rolls and fill up beverage glasses - and keep her smile on her face!! I was truly thankful indeed ...
DeleteAnd what an absolutely delectable repast David and I enjoyed. We loved every bite of it. Most of all we loved being there because YOU were there, Karyn. Your sisters, along with you, were wonderful servers. It was apparent all four of you were actually enjoying yourselves. There were constant smiles on your faces, a feat not always that easy to attain. The conversations we had with each of your sisters were heart-warming and kind. The entire evening was a true delight. Thank you so very much, Karyn dear. xoxo
