I could work here!

Both my careers are to be found in Trivandrum:

The pastry case - just tell him what you want and the proprietor reaches in and hands it to you - no need for tongs, plates, napkins. No muss, no fuss. I had a vada (top left).

Making chai -- right before this, he has semi-rinsed out the glasses that you'll be drinking from (see the orange basin) ... and who needs a variety of teas, anyway? One tea is served, with milk and sugar already boiled in. Fantastic!

The front of this historic tea house: it has been open for 50 years!

The proprietor of the tea house;
his father-in-law is the one who opened it, and
his picture is the first thing you see as you walk in.

  1. Fabulous! Now to request permission to transfer!

    Are you getting any ideas for the TH when you return? :)

  2. And your parents' picture is right inside the door as you walk into Nilgiris! Honour runs deep in this heritage we share. TBTG (Thanks be to God).
